The only band in history where all 4 members of the band wrote a no. 1 hit tune on the charts (can’t remember my sources or which charts, but certainly all 4 were great musicians)

Not at all. It was his choice to retire and a perfectly reasonable one it was too, same as Roger and Brian deciding to continue with a new frontman. He’s also given Queen and Paul his blessing so he hasn’t abandoned anyone.

Sorry, Freddie himself said that Brian wrote the most songs (at least at the beginnings) but Freddie had more hits, just stating a fact, not showing off. That was one of the reasons to state all late Queen songs to be from “Queen” – independent who tributed the major parts.
John was always very contributing – he was the most underestimated member of Queen.
HIs influence was big.
I love his song “You’re my best friend” dedicated to his wife…it describes like I’m feeling about my husband.

they all played their part, Queen wouldn’t be Queen without one or the others.

They are all great musicians and deserve to still play music even without Freddie and be able to express their talents…but they know its never the same and… He who rocked the world…I salute you!

Actually, John Deacon wrote a lot of Queen’s songs. So Queen may not have been as good without him

i couldn’t agree more! freddie always supported and encouraged john to write, compose, sing, TALK..! besides, john has always been so devoted to his family and on several occasions mentioned he doesn’t want to do this thing forever.. just like freddie said in his interviews!!

I actually have noticed just how close freddie and john really were. Look at the pictures, on stage, in interviews – I think they were really alot alike and were very close. When Freddie died, I think Queen died for John.

i think the Freddie tribute concert is so unique that it will be written into stage music history as one of the most greatest and remarkable concet ever, in the way how it was done. I mean, i think it’s a really rare occasion to gather so mny performers to one big gig. Especially a gig like this.
