How can I get a free domain name with website hosting?
Hi,
I want to get a free domain name and web hosting because my friends and I are opening a business and we would like a website. Also, to sell food “lemonade-stand-style” would you need a license or something??? But more importantly, how can I get a free domain name and/or web hosting? We don’t have a credit card just so you know.
BTW – in case it helps, at least 30% of our profits are going to charities.

Hey pink185-
Take a look at Office Live Small Business. You can register your own .com domain and have it hosted for free for the first year. You can even create email addresses for all your coworkers that end in your domain’s name.com. Take a look at this gallery, it is quite impressive what you can do with Office Live Small Business: http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/

You can try squarehost.com. I’ve been with them for a while, and they really are the best. Try e-mailing them for a discount code. I got 50% off my monthly hosting prices. They also have yearly plans as low as 16.00 per YEAR.

You really don’t have to have a credit card. Most domain and hosting services will take a debit or check card.
If you can’t do that there is a great website service called Weebly http://www.weebly.com/. You can get a domain name that would also have .weebly.com at the end of the name. But it’s total free. You can check out a site I built on Weebly at http://www.howtoovercomeburnout.com.
If I can be of help please let me know. Check out my blog at http://whoisjoebutler.com. I teach who to set up sites and am walking people through the process.
Best to you!

You can’t really get a domain name legally without paying. A website I suggest is webstarts. It has cool designs and template and the interface is user friendly. It also offers a domain site for a bit under four dollars.
Check it out:

Look at webs.com. I created my website there. Here it is if you want to look at it: http://www.ojunejewelry.com.
I purchased my domain name. Webs.com is free and if you don’t want to pay for a domain name, the url will be yourusername.webs.com.
I haven’t used too many web hosting sites, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I like webs.com because their design interface is really easy that anyone can design a website.
As far as the legal stuff, I can’t really answer that.
