so what if your not using a router? Just wired to the Modem? This wasnt happening for me till last night and today idk what do do to fix it. Everything i find has to do with a router and im hard wired to the modem. when I connect my laptop to the modem it works fine PS3 doesnt.. What do i do??

Yeah, don’t use your neighbours signal mate. It’s kinda illegal (even with their permission). My friend got busted when a his neighbour found out. He was lumped with a £300 ($450) fine and got a criminal record.

@HmongYou2Tube This is for wireless i believe. Sometimes you need a wep key sometimes u dont, sometimes u need a WPA key. If your internet works fine wthout the key thats ok. but if you have one….and you have lost it….ur screwed unless u get a new router. u can use your neighbours but only if they have no wep or wpa key also. also u shud get their permission before using a connection that they pay for

Wait. Okay. i know nothing about internet connections and stuff. so just hear me out. is this for wireless or wired? I don’t have my modem or router connected to my ps3. i don’t know where i can find my wep key. so am i screwed? Internet doesn’t work at all when DNS server is down. I have to connect to my neighbors on laptop. help me out please!

u know this happen because your internet connection its not correct and when the ps3 get hot pff! this happen, so many peolpe just need to uplugged it

It says “Internet Connection Failed” and below it says it is a DNS problem so should the primary DNS and secondary fix that or is it an internet problem because I am connected and everything.

if i do automatic ip it says failed to obtain ip address if i do put it in manually the internet connection says failed idk what 2 do

So I am stuck with this problem;

When I try to set IP address automatically, it says it cant obtain my IP address.

And as I try to set it manually, it can obtain my IP address, but it gives me the 80710102 error.

Cant fix it with this solution. And I also filled in my usual DNS servers, which give me an error anyways.

Like the power rangers, always start with your smallest weapon. Unplug your ps3(the power cable) for 2 min and then try it. I myself was plagued with the curse of the 80710102 for weeks and then I tried that simple solution.
