Love this song, of course like many I like the album version way better than the single version, for some reason they sound more like ELO during the Eldorado-Face the Music time period and I take that as a good thing

@DaveWollenberg im not sure of chart placing in the UK but their big hits were finished here as they tried to be taken more serious by the press .ballroom blitz was later covered by the damned and the rezillos .didnt they re-locate to L.A

I read somewhere that the original lyric was, ” Butt love is for lots of men.”
The record company rejected it for some reason. So much for artistic integrity. It’s a shame that a recording artist has to rewright a song to pacify some record exec.

I remember back in ’78 ,when we had WMET radio in Chicago. they were top 40,. but they graciously gave us the album version to enjoy. Hit #8 in the US (Billboard). How’d it do in the UK? RIP, Brian and whoever else died from the group. God bless!
