@TweetyFreakingbaby maybe the water was too hot? It should be lukewarm, Otherwise yeast won’t survive.

I try to make this last saturday and it was delicious but my dough didnt rise like your. Matter fact didnt rise at all.. i just dont know why. and i followed every step that you showed. But anyway. I STILL LOVE IT(:

i made this recipe twice in just 3 days!! :D my sister was there when i made them, and when i opened up the first one to see how it looked on the inside, our mouths started to water!! it was really hot and syrupy 8D it was absolutely delicious!! both my sister and i really enjoyed this recipe, thanks maangchi!! ♥♥♥

I love hoddeok!! I had no idea it was so easy to make it at home… the first time I had it was from a street vendor in Korea and I thought it was one of the best tasting foods I’d ever eaten :) Thank-you so much for posting this recipe!

These are really good! ^^ I made some with apples, and my mom loved them even though she doesn’t like sweets :) And I actually think these are almost better when they are cooled and the sugar has thickened a bit ;D

You should do mini ‘How to speak Korean’ lessons while you are cooking ^^ Such as, while you’re telling us ingredients and preparing the food you could say the ingredient first in Korean, and then in English ^^
