I’ve been trying to grow whole sweet potatoes with the toothpicks + jar of water method, but they all start to rot at some point after sprouting. Is there a way to prevent this? Yes, I keep the toothpicks out of the water. Only the bottom 1/3 of the potato is submerged.

Besides baking them. Also – I do not like to add “sweet” things to my sweet potatoes. No sweet butter, no brown sugar, etc. I like a baked sweet potato with regular butter and sour cream! So keep that in mind.
