Pinging an IP address is a method of translating computer addresses so computers will be able to locate each other. Translating a numerical address into a certain sequence of words requires the ping IP command of which the IP address is assigned to a computer.

Every time the domain name is used, a DNS server must change the name into its corresponding IP Address. The DNS server stands on its own. It is its own network. Once a server fails to translate a certain domain name, it asks another one until it returns the correct address. The DNS server implements a name service protocol. It will usually locate a host that is human-recognizable to a computer-recognizable identifier.

How It Works

The Internet name system always implements that DNS server protocol. A DNS server governs the domain name system’s records.

To put it simply, the DNS server translates information and converts it into an IP address. Currently, there are a billion IP address in use, and most machines have human-readable names and there are billions of DNS server requests sent every single day. One person can make about a million DNS server request per day.

Both domain names and IP addresses change daily and new ones are created at the same rate also. ISPs do the changing and adding of DNS servers daily.

The DNS server is a single database. It is its own network. It is the only database that gets millions of requests every hour of the day. No other database gets this many requests. In other words, the DNS server is unique.

The IP Address

To be able to keep stuff in the Internet straight, each machine is assigned to a unique IP address. Internet Protocol (IP) address is primarily a 32-bit number normally expressed as four octets in a decimal number.

Every machine seen on the Internet has its own unique IP address. A server has a static IP address. The IP address is unique for every session and no two can be similar.

Every time one requests for a web page from a network, the system includes the IP address from the DNS Server. In order to straighten things out in the Internet, every single machine is assigned to a sole IP address. It is prevented from having duplicates so as not to confuse the system. Ping IP is a command frequently used to troubleshoot any network problems. It checks whether the IP address of a certain machine is available in the network.

The Internet has become part of human life and the simple sending of an email or browsing of the web has many components and processes. Some components, like the IP address, are hidden but there can be very vital to the network process itself. Without these components, there could be a shut down of the network or a crash in the system. Some components that are readable to humans may not be readable by the computer that’s why IP addresses and DNS servers are important in a network to convert them.

The Vitality

The DNS server governs and supervises all the domain name’s records and processes. It stands on its own and can process many configurations and programs at once. Since requests come in as many as a hundred thousand per minute, the DNS server is the busiest among all network databases. It is vital to the system and all those who use it.
